Unfortunately, buying books directly through our webshop is not possible at the moment, since our payment provider has retired the integration we used to charge payment cards.

A new – and much better – website is in the works, but it’s not quite there yet.

Until we get the new site up and running, you can order books the old-fashioned way, by writing to order@mtp.dk. We’ll then send you the books with a payable invoice.

When ordering by e-mail, please remember to also give your name and address for shipping.

Orders are generally shipped as parcels for pickup from a service point; read more here. If you require delivery to your door, please also state this in your e-mail.

On consignment for Forum for Renæssancestudier

The word ”novella” came into use in Tuscany in the 14th century for a particular type of literary texts, and the genre of the short story has taken many different directions. The work that has both named the genre of the short story and defined a standard for the manner in which short stories should be written is Giovanni Boccaccio’s Decameron. Yet even before Decameron collections of similar texts have existed, such as the anonymous collection of tales known under the title Il Novellino. In Novellegenrens fødsel Anders Toftgaard traces the development of the literary genre of the short story in 14th century Italy and subsequently offers a definition of the short story as it appears in Decameron useful for the pursuit of similar types of texts in Antiquity.
